Annual Conference

‘Specialist Club’ is an educational initiative, designed to bring together like-minded practitioners keen to develop their sphere of practice in interesting new directions, sometimes with an element of commercial in addition to a clinical focus.

This meeting features 4 lectures and 1 workshop with the whole day awarding at least 10 CPD points total

Held at the National Conference Centre, we will run live skills workshops, covering topics including the ones below.

Contact Lenses: Ocular surface and wearer behaviours

Sonia will review the CLEAR report and discuss evidence of CL interaction with the tear film, the behaviours of patients and practitioners, comfort/pain, as well as recent medical advances.

Framing their future

Alicia will be discussing aspects from her PhD in paediatric facial anthropometry in relation to spectacle frame design, with the aim of improving the fit of spectacles for all children, from infants through to adolescents.

A series of curious cases…

This discussion workshop will take the form of a quiz where delegates, in small groups, will have to decide upon treatment plans for three clinical cases presented to them, covering such topics as contact lenses, dry eye conditions and myopia management.

Eye beauty vs. ocular surface health: Navigating the World of eye cosmetics

Alison will describe the impact of eye cosmetics on the ocular surface, highlighting some specific products, ingredients, and procedures known to exacerbate ocular surface disease.
