Our mission

The Specialist Club is an exciting educational initiative. Whilst not strictly a club it’s designed to bring together like-minded practitioners keen to develop their sphere of practice in interesting new directions. See details of our next event above.

Big thanks to Nick Atkins and all the team at Specialist club. I attended the CPD event in Birmingham yesterday and it was fab. Content excellent and team amazing. Sorry no pics, was too busy picking up really good tips, information and ideas on specialist contact lenses!

Thank you Nick Atkins, Phil Thompson, Tony Whyatt and Craig Wilcox for a very interesting day. I look forward to bringing many aspects into eveyday practice life with Positive Impact.

As always Specialist Club provided a day of great learning.

Of course points (CPD) mean prizes, but with small groups of like minded professionals, facilitated by those very knowledgeable in their particular field, it could not have been a better way to learn or refresh skills not used for a while. I enjoyed the day far more than I had anticipated and came away enthused.

They were all first class. However (!) Nick Howard’s Ortho-K workshop was unbelievable. He took a volunteer, R&L -5.00, did a topography and selected a lens from your fitting set. We then spent 20 minutes discussing topography images and all things Ortho-K. He then took the lens out and redid the topography. In that short time and with an open eye, he had wiped out 1.5D. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes… very powerful message.!
