Contact lens care: Do we really care?
There has been little or no innovation in contact lens care for over a decade. The UK market is currently dominated by preservative based multipurpose solutions, many using a single disinfectant formulation. Following a little history, this lecture with discussion will review the different contact lens care systems available today and their different attributes. It will bring things up to date with new systems such as povidone-iodine disinfection. It will consider the role of preservative-free systems versus preserved solution options.

Reshaping the Future
Orthokeratology (Ortho-k) has for many years been a specialty product and a specialty service provided by the more ambitious, or forward-thinking eye care professional as part of a ‘niche’ type of practice, without a fuller consideration of both the simplicity and effectivity of this innovate and wholly unique phenomenon.
This lecture with discussion session will review the principles of the design and fitting of ortho-k lenses including the latest development of accelerated ortho-k. It will discuss suitable patients, appropriate lens care and management and the techniques application as a therapy for paediatric myopia control.
